Veronica Leiton
Veronica Leiton's childhood influence of Santiago, Chile is felt and seen throughout her paintings. Themes of disintegrated cities submerged by blue waters are a frequent interpretation in her work. Her paintings are not merely surface visuals, but instead draw the viewer into micro-worlds through the layering of color and form, creating a multiple field of depth. Over a decade ago, Veronica Leiton adopted Mexico as her home. In turn, Mexico has recognized her talent and embraced her work by honoring her with the status of State Artist of Chihuahua, Mexico (2007). |
